BSOD with 8922

BSOD with 8922

Postby riccume » Mon Sep 05, 2011 5:33 am

I'm having the same BSOD problems with the 8922 that I used to have with the 8921 - at least once a week the HTPC freezes and the BSOD comes up, no apparent reason. I took a look at the reports and in all of them the Bug Check String is "BAD_POOL_CALLER" and among the drivers found in the stack I always see tbs8922.sys (the others being halmacpi.dll, ks.sys, ntkrnkpa.exe, by Microsoft). I'm using the latest driver (v1.0.0.7 according to the text, but the downloaded file is called TBS8922Driver_V1.0.0.6.rar...); Windows 7 Professional 32bit, Windows Media Center. Will you be able to provide an updated driver? Thanks.

Hi Steven. The 8921 had BSOD problems before I removed it from my system; I substituted it with the 8922 and now I have problems with that one too. I didn't have any such problem with my previous DVB-S card (Compro VideoMate S350).

Do you want me to uninstall with 8922? I'd be left without satellite TV at that point.

Unfortunately I haven't noticed any triggering event - most of the times when the BSOD happens the HTPC is simply on; sometimes it is recording; sometimes I am watching a video. And no I only have one HTPC, sorry.

OK, I'll switch cards (I have another slot used by a DVB-T card) over the weekend and have a go.
