TBS6921: how to NOT load the drivers for built in IR device?

Postby sja1440 » Sun Aug 21, 2011 8:10 pm

I have constructed an HTPC with your card TBS6921 and after installing your driver, my existing IR receiver (an eHome) is no longer visible to ir-keytable. This is even before I install lirc. My system is based on an updated Ubuntu 11.04.

I have read the threads on gossamer MythTV and on this forum regarding the incompatibility problem with the inbuilt IR device

Since I do not wish to use the IR device that is built into the TBS6921 can you tell me:
(1) how to prevent making/loading any driver for your inbuilt ir device.
(2) if I could do (1) would this still allow me to used the card for what I bought it for: that is for receiving sat TV?
(3) if (1) is not possible are there any other workarounds to the incompatibility problem?

Many thanks
