Low signal sensitivity - Skylink on Astra3A

Low signal sensitivity - Skylink on Astra3A

Postby atarian » Sat Mar 03, 2012 1:49 am

Hello,

I am having problems with receiving (even SQ FTA) channels in Skylink packet, especially form 12525 MHz transponder. The problem is none of the Skyling TV/radio channel is watchable on TBS6928, as picture in TV stream is falling apart randomly, radio stream gets interupted every second or so. Now this only applies to Skylink programs on Astra 3A / 23.5, every other channel of any other provider is otherwise fine, including HD ones. Truth is this transponder is generally known to have weaker signal and Astra 3A is generaly EOL. Still today I had a signal measured and I have been told its strongest possible. Also my DVB/S Samsung TV reports weaker signal on this specific transponder, but still provides perfect picture with no breakups.
The only explanation is TBS6928 has worse signal sensitivity, which in results makes impossible for me to watch my national channels. I have tried MediaPortal TV engine as well as ProgDVB 6, both show consistently bad picture.
Is there a chance to improve signal sensitivity somehow via software upgrade?

Thanks for help, Pavel

thought this was a technical forum and someone of support team would reply. Nevermind, I have bought largest possible sat dish 100cm (!) and it sorta solved my problem.

Hi atarian

Sorry for the delay reply.
From our worldwide test with TBS6928,it is like that TBS6928's sensitivity is good than other card.
So maybe your signal is not very well.

But we can give you a test driver which increanse the lock time.maybe this way can solve your problem
Tomorrow after i come back to office i will give you the test driver as soon as possible.

Thanks
steven
