Card wont tune channels

Postby jaminben » Sun Dec 11, 2011 12:17 am

Hi,

I've just purchased the TBS 6984 and I'm struggling to tune any channels..... the channels I'm after are Freesat (UK). I'm trying to tune with software called SageTV and don't have any issues tuning with a Hauppauge Nova HD S2 card (I get around 1010 channels with this card). I can also tune the Nova HD then use the same lineup for additional cards so I know the tuning is correct, however these same channels don't work with the TBS even when using the same wire I just used to tune the Nova HD with.

Not really sure what else I can try so came here looking for some help.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm having the same issue

Brand new card just received today.
Removed my existing (and working0 2x Nova-S Plus cards and a Tevii Dual DVB-S/2 card and installed the TBS6984.
Installed latest drivers, 1.0.20, and restarted PC.
Tried to scan channels in Mediaportal TV Server but get no signal on any tuner on any transponder.
I have the LNB cable connected to a 4 way splitter (all ports power pass - same as I was using with the old tuners) and then 4 cables from there to the new TBS card outputs.
No motors or anything.

TBS-IPdata doesn't want to lock on to any transponders and DVBDream also doesn't pick up any channels.
I've tested LNB/Tuner A with a multimetre and it does 18V or 13V as expected and less then 1V when no software open.
I connected the satellite cable directly to Tuner A (so no splitter or anything) and still could not tune any channels.

Help!

Edit: Sorry forgot to mention I am in New Zealand and trying to get a signal from Optus D1.
I also tried 3 different drivers - 1.0.2.0 - 1.0.1.8 & 1.0.1.5.
This is running on Windows 7 64bit.
I have tried with the PCIe power connected and disconnected.

Never mind!

It looks like there could be a problem with the LNB.
I changed the LOF from 10750 to 10747 and it is working now.
