Hi,

I'm currently running my 6284 from the 6 pin to 3 molex adapter that came with the card; would I be able to run the card from a 6 pin PCI-e vga cable?

Would tidy up the inside of my case no end!

Our advice is to use the 6 pin to 3 molex adapter that came with the card,maybe the 6 pin PCI-e vga cable is not compatible with
TBS6284 card.

I acknowledge that Steven recommended using the TBS power connector, and not the 6-pin connector for the graphics card (presumably that connector is unused in your PC?). However...

...I was moving a few cards around in my HTPC yesterday, so I decided to fire it up with the case open (don't try this at home, kids), and measure the voltages on the 6-pin connector powering my Nvidia 8600GTS, and the voltages on the TBS connector. All voltages were 12 volts.

Is your 6-pin connector the same as mine? Probably, but you will have to decide for yourself whether you want to try using it on the TBS6284 card.

Cheers for the info mate; didn't have the balls to try it without on official ok.

The main reason for asking was that I was close to running out of molex plugs on my psu, especially with considering running with 2 of the tbs6284 cards.

Really must use the included 3x4 pins molex to 6 pins PCI-e adapter?
Cannot use the 6 pins PCI-e cable directly from powersupply?
I don't think I have so many spare 4 pins molex. Using a Y/triple/quad cable will defeat the purpose?

This card use so much power?

no, you can use the 6pins PCI-e cable directly coming from the power supply.
It is ok.No problem

About the power ,it is depend on the load of your LNB using, like when you use a motor need more power
then extra power is needed.

sorry but is the LNB for satellite tv only?
aerial antenna for DVB-T2 needs that extra power or not?

I think that there is no need to use extra power in DVB-T2,if you have no problem when using
without extra power.

TBS6220, 6280 and 6284 supports DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2?

TBS6220, 6280 and 6284 supports DVB-T/T2/C, Do not support DVBS/S2,
Maybe later we will development a great card which include DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2 support.
