TBS-6220 - Won't receive with good signal on Windows 10/11

Postby vma » Tue Aug 19, 2025 3:36 pm

Hello,

I tried my TBS-6220 (after a long time) with two computers running Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Both show the same symptom: it is as if the signal was very bad. Image is blocky or no image at all. Most of the time even the service names are not correctly shown.

The same antenna cable works perfect with a TBS-5580.

Using CrazyScan2 the spectrum is rendered correctly and the constellation diagram works. But I get no picture using different apps (TSReader, VLC, etc.). With my own VMA Stream Reader, I have the same issue. Everything works fine with the TBS-5580.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks,
Vitor

Show screenshoot from CS2. I have 6220 sample, will check later.

I had 6220 few years ago and I recall that it was easy to overload it with too strong signal. @vma if you're running from some modulator, this might be the source of your issue.
Easy to spot this - great constellation, but high BER. Decreasing RF Level helped.
If that's not the source, please provide screenshot from CrazyScan2 (RF & sample IQ) like crazycat said.
And now you're watching 8K:
