Ref: tbs6984 ir remote under LINUX. I've tried the web, I've tried irrecord but with no success. The ir receiver works with another remote and I have a lirc.conf for that remote. However I try, I cannot get the boxed ir remote to work. With irrecord it will find a RC-5 remote but when I try to input keys i get no response. Using irrecord in force raw mode give a file but it does not work! Has anyone got a working lirc.conf file for a TBS remote 2012 vintage boxed with TBS6984. As an after thought, could TBS supply a lirc.conf for the remote as standard. Would TBS give the source of the remote so I could search for other than TBS ( e.g. is it a re-badged Phillips?)

I never use lirc with tbs cards. Remote it's detected as an input device and, for example, to use remote with vdr, I use

cat /proc/bus/input/devices

to see imput device number.

Thanks Sergio, but I need to use irexec so I must use lirc. I am using a One for All which is "too complicated" for other users and I am trying to use the TBS as a second remote for Mythtv.

I don't remember how, but I used remote control with mythtv...
Give me some time to remember.

RC work like devinput device. So you must configure lirc work with devinput device or just install simple replacement inputlirc (act as lirc server for devinput devices).

Thanks crazycat. The receiver is working OK and I am using a different remote with a suitable lircd.conf. I want to use two different remotes.
