6925 & windows 8.1

Is the 6925 compatible with windows 8.1 64 bit?

Reason I ask is that it does work but the card frequently stops working (cannot be detected) and I have to physically remove the card from the computer and then replace it. the card will then work normally until the next time.

Any explanation why?

I have been told by a number of people that they are aware of a problem with TBS 6925 V2.23 cards and some motherboards.

Any truth in this?

My motherboard is an ABIT IP35 Pro XE.

My card works normally for a few weeks then begins to struggle and I always have to remove and replace the card and it will work normally for a few weeks again until the next time.

Very annoying.

Exactly the same thing has happened tonight.

So what is the problem with this card?

I am beginning to regret ever purchasing it.

No response from a TBS rep yet!

Still no response???????

Is there any support anymore?

I am having to uninstall my 6925 card frequently including the driver and then reinstall or the card does not function correctly.

I ask again, Is there a known problem with Revision v2.3 cards and some motherboards?

I have been told there is by someone who had a similar problem and the answer was to replace the card with a different revision card.

I have now noticed that when scanning with my 6925 I get a different FEC to what my receivers get.

Does this give a clue as to what my problem is?

I am still waiting for a reply from admin / support.

Is TBS now dead?

At the moment it is extremely unlikely that I will be purchasing another TBS product in the future or recommending anyone to buy one. Sad, because when it works properly it is excellent.

I have a 6925 and run it with Windows 8.1 64 bit. No problems that I've noticed. I don't know what version the card is, I bought it a couple of years ago. Have you tried playing with the pci-e settings in your motherboard bios? On my Asus mb the modes can be changed. I've read those settings can affect some cards but have no evidence personally, something to try.

I did have a look in the bios and it seems that the only changes I can make that would affect the pcie slot is to set it to either v1.0 or v1.0a.

I think it is currently on v1.0.

Is there any other setting I could alter?

Thanks for replying. It's a pity support don't bother to reply anymore. This card was not cheap, but they have lost a customer.

By the way, the card version is printed on the card. I have v2.3 which apparently has a problem with some motherboards.

I pulled the 6925 card and it is a 2.3 version. My pci-e bios options are x1 x4 or auto, it was set to auto on install so I just left it, it seems to work okay there. Not sure what else to tell you, the mb is an Asus P8 Z77-V Pro. I'm using the 1.0.1.20 driver for 64 bit.

I am using the newer driver for 64 bit. V1.21.

I will downgrade to v1.20 and give that a go, but I am fairly sure I had the same problem with that driver also.

I will also have another look in my bios.
