Reception problems

Hi All,

Originally I had set up my new TBS6981 under windows and had a problem with discontinuity of signal on Cband and KUband reception. This problem was fixed by using an earlier driver ver 2.0.0.2.

Anyway I've decided to move to a Linux OS and I installed Ubuntu 10.10 and have installed the latest drivers from the TBs website. The card starts to work then within a few seconds it will start getting discontinuity again like it did under windows.

The drivers used are linux-s2api-tbs6980-1_20101024.rar

and my Ubuntu kernel is 2.6.35-22

The signal and quality is ok whilst this fault is occuring. But it has got to a stage of the card being unusable I can see it's a problem with the drivers that are being produced but I can't see any way of fixing the problem.

Please help

Thanks from Mich111

Thanks everyone for the all the help in solving the problem I was having I LAUGH I end up repairing the problem with the driver files and this corrected the problem I was having.

The drivers used are linux-s2api-tbs6980-1_20101024.rar and I had to modify them to fix the fault.

Hi Mich111
problem looks to be a bit similar I posted here.
https://shop.tbsdtv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=364

Even I do not have any problem when recieving from just one card when using both recievers on card. So I guess if there could be found some hardware similarities or something which we have setup in kernel.

Because I can 100% confirm that one TBS6981 in system does not have problem withreception and I didi not noted discontinuities I met them on two cards.

What is your hardware?
You wrote that "frequency is 3780 V 26666" - can you provide more details of this transponder? lyngsat link hope will be ok..
Becuse is possible that card have issue on some specific transponder speed or fec and similar....
Thank you.
