Kernel 2.6.37

After "cd linux-s2api-tbs6980_1"
I don't find the # ./tbs-x86_64.sh or # ./tbs-x86.sh script !?

If i do make :

I've got an error due to I2C_ADAP_CLASS_TV_DIGITAL. on /linux-s2api-tbs6980_1/v4l/flexcop-i2c.c
This declaration seem to be removed from new linux kernel. see https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/250451/

I've got another error from this: too few arguments to function 'i2c_new_probed_device' (seem to add a NULL at the end)

And at the end,
.......
CC [M] /root/tbdsdtv/linux-s2api-tbs6980_1/v4l/cx23885-f300.o
make[3]: *** Pas de règle pour fabriquer la cible « /root/tbdsdtv/linux-s2api-tbs6980_1/v4l/tbs6980ctrl.o », nécessaire pour « /root/tbdsdtv/linux-s2api-tbs6980_1/v4l/tda18271.o ». Arrêt.
make[2]: *** [_module_/root/tbdsdtv/linux-s2api-tbs6980_1/v4l] Error 2

Any idea ? (new version?)

The currently released drivers are compatible up to kernel 2.6.35.x
They won't even compile with newer kernels. So this card can't be used with the latest generation of distributions. I'm very disappointed of the lame support. The last driver release has been in october. If TBS is not able to release new drivers they should open them up, that the necessary modifications can be made by other driver developers.

2.6.38 is out now.

I really hope the driver updates are getting some love.

yeah, this kernel issue is killing me - not knowing a huge ammount about linux, i'm not updating my mythtv setup as i know (from days of working out what went wrong!) it's going to break my install. theres a few updates i'd like to install, but having had enough downtime of my HTPC i dont want to for fear of yet another reinstall/restore.

has anyone contacted TBS support for 'official' information/report the issue?

I would like to add my "five cents" here as well.

The situation with TBS Linux drivers support is really annoying.

The latest kernel's stable realise is 2.6.38 now (the same is in Ubuntu 11.04 beta1), and such a delay in the driver update (and/or keeping it as semi-closed) would significantly reduce attractiveness of TBS products for a "computer's enthusiasts" community...

I agree, if I had realised the driver wasn't fully open source, I would NOT have purchased this card, and even though I have got it working, it's still not too late for me to send it back for a refund, the requirements on the box doesn't state that a specific version of Linux is supported, the pain of having to deal with out-of-tree code is too high.

Please Cody if you're listening, get the driver GPL'ed and pushed into mainline ...
