VLC Player BDA driver problem?

how do I get VLC player to play a channel from the sat card?
I have tried all sorts but always get the error:
Cannot load tuner device and connect network provider: hr=0x800004005
Researching the error it says the bda drivers are incorrect or not loaded but I can use various other DVB programs that use the BDA drivers without problems.
I'm using VLC for windows V 2.0.5 and Windows 7
