How can I losslessly edit HD recordings from a 6981

I've recently bought a 6981, which works fine with Windows 7 and DVBDream.

My question is, how can I losslessly edit the .TS files produced when I record HD channels, and losslessly convert the result into a format that other applications can deal with, such as .MKV.

I use PVAStrumento and Cuttermaran to do this with SD recordings, but what tools, preferably free ones, are the recommended equivalents for HD recordings?

Thanks.

Hi,
Please try to reinstall your DVBDream again,at the begin of setup process ,you should choose which type of file for record,MPEG or TS.
TS files is the original data from the tuner, not easy edit such type of data.
