system crashing on channel scan using TBS6981

Hi there
currently using a TBS6981 paired with a gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2PT motherboard, 2gb ram and a 3ghz 5700 dual core intel. All power connectors are connected to the card. When I'm scanning channels via DVBlink it resets the system completely. Is there a bios issue with the gigabyte motherboards? Can you shed any light as to why its crashing when scanning?

Thanks

Hi unbatron
would you used the lastest driver? this is the lastest driver download linkhttp://www.tbsdtv.com/english/Download.html.Would you mind test it without DVBlink, try to the other software. if you can,the best updated the BIOS.

Thanks

I've used the latest driver downloaded from the website and also the bios on the motherboard. What's the power draw from the card under load? It done the same in windows media centre, crashed during scan.

Well stopped it crashing, dropped the 250w psu for a 500w. Seems the power draw from the card is quite hungry.

I saw the same thing as well. I suspect it's not the absolute power draw, but small surges when the LNB's are powered up which temporarily causes a glitch on the 12V supply and a slight drop in voltage. Possibly a slight design problem with the voltage regulators / converters generating the required LNB voltages?
