Hi,

Hoping someone here can help me before I return my card to the seller.

I recently got a TBS 6981 and had quite a few problems!

Please note I've tried this card on 3 different motherboards, and two PSUs... One running AMD other Intel, both Gigabyte boards.
This was an upgrade from an S350, which had been working fine, and removed for upgrade.

The card will work fine for a day or two, then will not be detected by the system at all! Makes no difference on external power or not, also moving slots. On the power front there I've tried both the boxed connector and a dedicated PCIEX feed from my larger PSU (420W).

In the first board it actually stopped all the expansion slots working, but they recovered after a few days. Other cards work fine in the slots. No other expansion boards are installed alongside this.

Any ideas what an be going wrong? It's driving me crazy!

Sorry should add OS is Win 7 ultimate x64 in both cases, including a clean install

"the card will work fine for a day or two," means after a day or two,it still dosen't work fine or after sometime it can work ok?

And when it can not detected by the system, have you tried to restart your computer,a fter restart can it be detected?

Thanks for your response... Yes will work through reboots fit a few data but then stop.

Rebooting will not make any difference, it's still not detected in device manager after reboot and not seen in the BIOS PCI device list either.

After removing and reinstalling the card and power it's still not getting detected now.

please try to clean the "gold finger"(the part that connects the card and the PCIe slot) of the TBS 6981 with an eraser, because you can use 6981 work ok,
maybe it was bad connection between the card and the Motherboard.

Hi, tried what you had suggested about cleaning gold connectors with an eraser but this time has not helped! Both my systems still fail to detect the card... Perhaps a faulty card?

Would appreciate any further help you can give!

Maybe the card have broken,you can contact with your seller to get a replacement ,if after a replacement you problem is also exist
