Hi Ive now got the 6904 working and want to change over to Unicable in TVheadend

I tried using unicable on one channel as shown in the image below but didnt receive anything from that channel after swapping to the unicable output on the lnb.

Is there something special to setup Unicable on the card apart from filling in the fields shown ?
Can you have one channel unicable and another universal lnb or must they all be the same ?

I havent used unicable before, Im happy to download an easier app for Windows 10 to test it if this helps.

This is very frustrating. I can use the card in Unicable mode on Windows 10 with DVBDream. But it will not work in unicable mode on my linux server. I can see the channels in Universal LNB mode but if I swap to the Unicable cable and change to Unicable, I dont get any response.

Is there something wrong with the TBS Driver for the 6904 ?

Hi Sir

Do you have setup the 6909 to unicable mode ?
Working mode:Unicable (Mode 2)
At the very beginning, you have to create configuration file under the Linux system directory:
/etc/modprobe.d/mxl58x.conf. The content of the configuration file: options mxl58x
mode=2. After configuration completed, please reboot your computer.

Thanks

Kind Regards

Is this correct ? I have a 6904 not a 6909 ? I have not tried it.

I managed to get channels to appear in Unicable mode but they the signal seems very weak, I cannot tune into BBC1 for example.

Is there a list of modules etc I can look to see if the card is loaded properly ?

I am still struggling with the 6904 and am getting ready to send it back to Amazon. I cannot use it with Unicable in Linux. I have had it working in Windows but I bought it for use with Linux.

Hi Sir

From the picture you are using TBS6904 tuner 0 ,for 6904 which port you put unicable signal ? please take one picture
or you can setup teamview remote you can send remote id to our support@tbsdtv.com
we will have a remote check with this

and if windows works well then should be the setting issue .do not worry

Hi thanks for the reply.

I have managed to get a bit further with this and have put my findings on the TVHeadEnd Forum

I can use either card 6904 or 6982 with unicable on Windows.

I can use either card 6904 or 6982 with normal Universal LNB in Linux with TVHeadEnd

I can use the 6904 / 6982 at the same time as my dvbsky s952, my s952 works perfectly with the unicable on 2 tuners.

I can use the 6904 in Linux with Unicable in TVHeadEnd but it will not tune into all the channels it can normally, it seems to not like the HD Channels.

The 6982 would not work with Unicable in this setup.

My setup, the item that is disabled does not work with unicable so i have disabled it as I have no more wires.

Currently I am using 2 channels of Unicable on the dvbsky card and 1 channel of Universal on the 6982 as I have 1 cable of "unicable" which I have split into 2, and 1 normal LNB cable.

I would like to be able to use Unicable for both cards.

Perhaps this will help.

regards

Just thought Id let you know that I now have unicable working on the s6982 in Linux ( Tvheadend )

The only thing different, the weather is better and I changed a cable to the splitter.......

I havent tried unicable on both ports as I dont want to upset it and 4 channels at once is enough for me.

At some point I will make an alternate drive up and see if I cant get it working with Debian 10

Currently back at Ubuntu 18 and Tvheaded Stable.
