Hi All!

Do we have any forum member here who can share his experience with soft CAM descrambling?
I am considering to use quad or octa DVB-S2 PCIe receivers and descramble the TV channels via o s c a m, but I have no idea if it would work with about 40 TV channels. 20 SD and 20 HD. Can someone share with me what is the CPU utilisation with SOFT CAM decryption?

If it can work what x86 CPU would you recommend to use? If I would like to try also video transcoding for several HD channels to transcode it to lower bitrate does also GPU have any influence on the performance?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.

Hello,

i use ubuntu 14.04 + 6909 + quad lnb
quad core i5-3550
8GIG ram
2 instances of cesbo for more stability(7tuners- +/-70 channels)
tvheadend(1 tuner only for recording)
external_oscam
all channels streaming to another server with iptv-panel

load average per CPU +/- 30%
mem usage : 97%
