Hi,
I have received my 6983 card from buydvb and it's missing the metal cover over the tuner chip.
On every photo I've seen online they were on.
Is it just mine?
It's V20

Yea,remove the metal shield even help to improve the sensitivity
so we remove it ,It is ok,Please do not worry about this.

That's OK then.
But is it safe for the hard drive?

Do I always need to have power plug connected or is it only for motor dishes? (I use diseqc)
I haven't got such connector on my PSU and the adaptor is for an old molex. I would have to get an adaptor from SATA type connector.

After installing the newest driver for Windoes 8.1 the Device Manager shows only one device "TBS6983 Dual DVBS/S2 BDA Tuners". Is that alright?

Yea, it is safe.

And about the power plug when you have not connect motor do not need this.

And the device manager message is ok.enjoy your TBS6983 now.
